How to apply
Here is how to submit your application for the Occupational Health and Safety Award:
- Check the details and practicalities of the OHS Award online.
- Complete the application form and send it before the 12 November 2025 to prevention.aaa@secu.lu.
- Following the jury’s assessment of the applicationsthe candidates will be informed of the result on 12 December. The organisers of the OHS Award will contact the winners to arrange video shooting practicalities for their projects.
- The winners will be officially announced during the OHS Award ceremony at the OHS Forum on the 25thMarch 2026.
- Following the official Award ceremony, an online public vote will be open for a few weeks to elect the “Public Vote Award” from among all the winners.
To win
5 prizes will be awarded, each worth €5,000.
The winners will also receive a professionally produced video to present their project, which will be previewed at the OHS Forum on 25 March 2026 at LuxExpoThe Box.
Public Award
In addition to the prizes awarded by the jury, the Public Award, worth an extra 2,000€, will be granted to one of the winners.
An online voting system will be set up on this website for a few weeks following the official Award ceremony. The winners are encouraged to share their videos on their websites and social networks after the award ceremony. The winner of the Public Vote Award will be announced at the end of the voting.

Application Form
The application form can be downloaded below. The form is available in FR, DE & EN and is in an accessible format.
Only one application per company or organisation and per category will be accepted.
In the application, the candidate must give details of the measures or products implemented, explain how they were implemented and describe the results obtained. The application form can be completed by documents, presentations, photos, drawings, videos or samples
The jury will select the winners. The jury’s decision cannot be appealed. The applicant will indicate the existence of industrial property rights or patents in the application form. The applicant agrees to their contribution being published. Furthermore, the applicant declares that the documents, presentations, photos, drawings, videos, or samples attached to the application form are free of third-party rights and can be used by the organisers for communication purposes.
Assessment of applications
Composition of the Jury
The jury has 5 members, each representing one of the following organisations:
- Ministry of Health and Social Security(M3S), represented by Association d’assurance accident (AAA) – chair
- M3S / Health Directorate – Occupational Health Department (DSAT)
- Ministry of Labour, represented by the Inspectorate of Labour and Mines (ITM)
- Institut National pour le Développement durable et la Responsabilité sociale des entreprises, the Luxembourg Institute for SustainableDevelopment and Corporate Social Responsibility (INDR)
- The Luxembourg Employers’ Association (UEL
Submissions for Evaluation
To assess the applications, the jury will analyse whether at least one of the following achievements has been made:
- ractical solutions for the safety of installations, machines, tools or processes;
- organisational or technical solutions for improving employee safety;
- organisational or technical solutions to improve employee health and well-being;
- interventionsto prevent commuting accidents and accidents during travel for work;
- interventions to prevent work-related illness.
Emphasis is laid on innovative, efficient, and sustainable solutions, those with the greatest impact and those that can be transferred to other companies or sectors.
Evaluation Criteria and Scoring
To assess the applications, the jury will consider the following criteria:
1. Degree of innovation (20 points)
The degree of innovation reflects the originality and novelty of the measure or product implemented.
2. Degree of prevention (30 points)
This criterion assesses the degree of risk reduction or improvement in safety, health and/or well-being at work.
3. Degree of efficiency (10 points)
The degree of efficiency refers to the gains achieved (reduction in risk or improvement in safety, health and/or well-being at work) in relation to the costs incurred (in terms of manpower, energy, time, absenteeism, etc.).
4. Sustainability (20 points)
Sustainability is assessed by:
- the practicality of the innovation, i.e. ease of installation, use and maintenance, be it from a technical, economic, energy, organisational or labour point of view (10 points);
- long-term impact, i.e. longevity or the possibility of regular checks with a view to continuous improvement (10 points).
5. Transferability (20 points)
This criterion assesses whether the measure is transferable to, or whether the product can be used by:
- companies in the same sector of activity, whatever their size (10 points);
- companies in all sectors of activity (10 points).
Note: Transferability will not be assessed for organisations
Why participate?
The award aims to:
- recognise innovative initiatives in the field of safety, health and well-being at work;
- highlight the concerted efforts made by employees and employers to manage health at work and prevent accidents at work and occupational illnesses;
- highlight the investment made by companies to improve safety, health and well-being at work;
- disseminate achievements widely so that other companies can benefit from them.
N.B. Only companies with a CCSS employer number (matriculeemployeur, CCSS: Centre commun de la sécuritésociale) or organisations operating in Luxembourg can submit their files.
Categories
The projects may be submitted in one of the 3 categories below:
Company category – safety (*)
- Company ≤ 50 employees
- Company > 50 employees
Company category – health and well-being (*)
- Company ≤ 50 employees
- Company > 50 employees
organisation acting as a multiplier for safety, health and/or well-being at work
*In the event that there are not enough admissible entries (i.e. having obtained at least 60% of the maximum score) for the company ≤ 50 employees category, the jury will reserve the right to award, if appropriate, two prizes in the > 50 employees category, and vice versa.
FAQ
Participation and eligibility
Who can participate?
Only companies with an employer registration number with the Centre commun de la sécurité sociale (CCSS), or organisations operating in Luxembourg, may take part in the competition. The employer or his representative may submit the project.
How many projects can a company submit?
Only one application per company or organisation and per category is accepted.
Is participation free?
Yes, participation in the OHS Award is entirely free of charge.
What is the deadline for applications?
Applications must be sent by 19 November 2025 at the latest by e-mail to: prevention.aaa@secu.lu

What documents do I need to provide?
The completed official application form, plus any attachments (photos, diagrams, explanatory documents) to illustrate your project.
Can I apply if my project has not yet been finalised?
No, the project must be finalised and measurable or expected results must be available.
Selection and award ceremony
When and how will I know if my project has been selected?
Applicants will be notified in December. The winners will then be contacted to organise the filming of a presentation video.
When will the winners be announced?
On 25 March 2026, at the Occupational Health and Safety Forum at LuxExpo The Box.
Awards
What are the prizes?
- 5 prizes, each worth 5,000€.
- A professionally produced video highlighting the project, presented at the OHS Forum 2026 and subsequently used by the company.
What is the Public Vote Award?
Following the awards ceremony, the public can vote online for their favourite of the winning projects. The winner will receive an additional 2,000€.
How does the Public Vote Award work?
The winning videos will be posted online at the OHS Forum 2026. Internet users can then vote for their favourite project on the winners’ page. Companies can mobilise their teams, partners and social networks to get as many votes as possible.
Communication and visibility
Can I use the video to promote my project?
Yes, the video created can be broadcast on your website, your social networks and to your partners after the OHS Award is awarded on 25 March 2026.

Absolutely! It’s a unique opportunity to highlight your efforts, inspire others and strengthen your reputation as a responsible employer in terms of health and safety and/or well-being at work.
